THE MAYOR VISITS THE FRESTONS W11 TO LAUNCH KCAW FRINGE
A NEW MURAL FOR FRESTON ROAD
Created by artist Peter Morris in collaboration with Morley College students, the mural forms part of this year’s KCAW FRINGE programme and contributes to the Royal Borough’s annual Public Art Trail. It was unveiled by the Mayor to mark the start of the festival.
The work reflects the 2026 festival theme, Web of Life, exploring the connections between people, place, culture and nature across the borough.
Before the unveiling, the Mayor toured the Yellow Building’s art collection, enjoying The Frestons W11 commitment to art in the workplace.

More Joyful Cities spans 23 timber hoarding panels at The Frestons W11, created with support from 15 Morley College students.
Inspired by the pink arches of Morris’s self designed Cloud House in Camden, each archway opens onto a brighter, more imaginative world. The mural celebrates creativity’s ability to make urban spaces more joyful. One panel is dedicated to Morris’s long time inspiration, David Hockney.

Local architect, artist and illustrator Peter Morris creates colourful works that merge architecture, creativity and public space. His practice celebrates the power of art to transform everyday environments through colour, optimism and imagination.
